Qatar is not going to pay for the Dutch fans’ trip to the race.
The Dutch World Cup fans have received a wet rag on their faces in Qatar. The promise made to them has been broken.
The Dutch website NOS revealed earlier this week that the country’s futsal fans were lured to Qatar for the competition trip with a rather questionable trick.
The fans said that the host of the games promised to pay for their trip on the condition that they do not do anything during the trip that is against the “spirit and purpose” of the event.
In addition, supporters were promised, for example, screen time from race broadcasts.
The Dutch fans wanted to take advantage of the offer of a free trip and signed an “ethical code” that obliged them to bring up only positive things about Qatar on social media.
However, now the Qatari authorities have decided that the money will not come.
British newspaper of the Guardian the maintenance promised to the fans was canceled just as they were packing for the trip.
According to the authorities, the reason for the decision was the negative media attention that the free fan trips have caused.
