The US clothing group PVH Corporation presented the new funding program of its company foundation on Monday. According to this, the PVH Foundation, which was founded last year, intends to make a total of ten million US dollars (9.4 million euros) available to various international non-profit organizations over the next four years. The money will be used to support initiatives and courses that align with the company’s inclusion and diversity goals.
Specifically, selected programs are funded that are intended to provide advanced training for people with “non-traditional backgrounds” and prepare them for a career in the fashion industry. The focus is on career changers and students from “disadvantaged and underrepresented” social groups. Among the partners who will receive financial support in the future are initiatives that are aimed at certain minorities or pursue sustainability goals, as well as classic industry organizations. Among others, the Fashion Council Germany (FCG) is one of the beneficiaries of the support program.
CEO Stefan Larsson explained the motivations of the group, which owns the brands Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger: “Leading fashion into a brighter future is at the heart of everything we do and our new partnerships will PVH in doing so help make a greater impact in our communities around the world,” he said in a statement. “As a company, we are committed to making change through inclusion and diversity, and we look forward to nurturing the next generation of innovators around the world.”
