The PvdA party board has apologized to party colleague Gijs van Dijk, who left the House of Representatives after accusations of transgressive behaviour.
The party had had this investigated, but the board was careless in drawing conclusions after that, the party board admits in a statement.
An appeals committee had recently whistled back to the board and the board is now taking that decision. As far as the board is concerned, nothing stands in the way of Van Dijk’s return. But Van Dijk has now decided not to do that, the statement says.
