Dubai (AP) – Davis Cup player Tim Pütz has won his seventh doubles title on the ATP Tour.
The 34-year-old prevailed with New Zealander Michael Venus in the final of the tournament in Dubai after almost two hours 6: 3, 6: 7 (5: 7), 16:14 against the top seeded Croatian duo Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic. With Venus, Frankfurter Pütz had already won the titles in Paris and Hamburg last year.
In the singles final in Dubai, Russia’s Andrei Rubljow defeated Jiri Vesely from the Czech Republic 6:3, 6:4.
