During a telephone conversation, Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz discussed Russia’s proposals on security in Europe and the situation in Ukraine. This is the first public conversation between the two leaders since Scholz succeeded Angela Merkel as head of the German government.
