Putin spends almost 70 million euros on his armored train with fitness, Turkish bath and beauty salon: this is how it looks | Abroad

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Vladimir Putin travels almost exclusively by armored train. Images of the train have surfaced before, but a new investigation offers a unique insight into the luxury train, which has a price tag of almost 70 million euros.

LOOK ALSO. Is this Russian President Putin’s armored train?

The Russian president is avoiding the plane for fear of an attack, according to a report from the research platform ‘Dossier Center’ at the beginning of this year. Instead, Putin would increasingly cross the country with his own train. However, the report could not be independently confirmed and images of the train were not available, but a new investigation has been able to obtain exclusive images.

The investigation – a collaboration between ‘Dossier Center’, CNN, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Westdeutscher Rundfunk and Norddeutscher Rundfunk – revealed that the armored train cost Russian taxpayers almost 70 million euros. Based on more than 25,500 documents from the company Zirkon, responsible for the maintenance of Putin’s train, the investigative journalists were also able to compile a map of the sports and health carriages that are part of the armored train.

The research shows that Zirkon has been working in recent years on those special wagons that have facilities such as a cosmetics office, gym and even a Turkish bath. There are also devices in the rooms that Putin can use if his life is in danger, such as a defibrillator and an artificial respiration machine. Remarkable: the train also has devices to make skin rejuvenation possible.

According to ‘Dossier Center’ there are still plans that need to be implemented. Putin would like to add a “multimedia center” to the train with a value of more than 4 million euros. In addition, preparations have already been made to build two luxury wagons – one with four compartments and a bar, and one with six compartments. The price tag of this is estimated at a sloppy 5.7 million euros. Finally, two dining cars with special communications will be added.
