Putin makes surprise visit to Crimea for ninth anniversary of annexation | Abroad

Putin turned up in the city of Sebastol, where the ships of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet are docked. Here he attended an art school together with the governor of the region. In addition, the Russian president also visited a Greek archaeological site.

Russia conquered Crimea in 2014, eight years before its large-scale invasion of Ukraine last year. Ukraine says it will do everything it can to expel Russia from Crimea and all other territory Russia has occupied in recent years.
