US rapper Pusha T, known for his dark sound and his sharp-tongued puns, has reason to be happy: his recently released album IT’S ALMOST DRY entered the US Billboard 200 cCharts at number 1.

For the rapper, it’s the first time one of his albums has taken the number one spot. The previous album DAYTONA, released in 2018, entered the charts at number 3. The rapper promptly took to Twitter after the placement was announced, writing, “We all can’t be number 1 at the same time, this week it’s mine. Thank you all.”

IT’S ALMOST DRY was released on April 22, 2022. The “Rolling StoneExplaining the dual meaning of the album’s title, Pusha T said, “I always create masterpieces and when creating paintings you always end up saying to people, ‘It’s almost dry [It’s almost dry]’ because they always ask, ‘When will it be ready?’. But you have to wait for a masterpiece. It’s the same in drug culture: there are often people who wait for their product because it isn’t dry yet. You can pick it up when it’s dry.” The album is a total of 12 songs and includes features from Kid Cudi, Lil Uzi Vert, Don Tolliver, Pharrell, Jay-Z and Kanye West.

Pusha T was recently a guest on Jimmy Fallon’s American late night show. The two spoke about the different working methods of his two producers, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams, and the difficulties in getting a feature with Jay Z. The rapper’s recently born son was also an issue. Then Pusha T performed his song “Dreamin Of The Past”.
