In the various rankings on the facilities for business creation, Spain does not usually stand out. It is a fairly widespread complaint in the economic world, especially entrepreneurs, which however collides with the enormous potential and with the reality that we find in our country, of projects that have been born and have been developed with obvious success. Without denying the interest and support of some administrations to facilitate the conditions and environments for business growth, a more favorable fiscal and regulatory framework was lacking to this type of recently created companies, mostly technology-based, innovative and therefore more exposed to risk. This lack of a favorable framework is what the new law for the promotion of startup Ecosystem, the one known as the ‘start-ups’ law, as it is equated to other European countries. It is worth dwelling on the ecosystem concept referred to in this law sponsored by the vice president Nadia Calvino, because no matter how much desire, enthusiasm and good ideas any entrepreneur puts into it, it will be much more difficult for it to grow in isolation than if it has an environment that cares for him and accompanies him in his beginnings. For example, one of the highlights of the new standard is the fiscal improvements for investors, without which, in most cases, there would be no funding to put into practice promising projects but with a very uncertain future. the law too lowers taxation for attracting foreign talent, very important in a field where the best and most sought-after professional profiles decide to work in one or another company based on the attractiveness of the city where they will live. Even something as simple as simplify procedures, reduce bureaucracy of visas and residence permits, facilitating the relationship with the administration through a single window, etc., can decide the balance between investing in one place or another. Barcelona, which already has long entrepreneurial experience, is one of the cities that can get the most out of the new regulation and should not miss out on this opportunity.
