Purmerend’s version of Stars on the Canvas is popular: “This is really me!”

Benefactor Erol Savur was honored on Saturday with no fewer than 20 portraits at the Purmerend version of Sterren op het Doek. The restaurateur and initiator of Handje Helpen Purmerend was impressed and chose a work of art made of wool and rope as the best. “That glance, the enthusiasm. That you can sketch the look in such a way, perfect.”

There has been no shortage of attention for Erol in recent months. He was previously surprised by NH presenter June Hoogcarspel during the program ‘You are an Angel’ and in December his initiative Handje Helpen Purmerend also received the Local Compliment from the municipality.

Last November, the artists of the Art Collective Purmerend were able to make the first sketches of Erol in Theater de Purmaryn, just like with the regular version of Stars on the Canvas.

The big winner of the day was Vano Ninua. Erol chose his artwork as the most beautiful and the audience also voted Ninua’s artwork as the best. “This is really me!”, Savur says admiringly.

The exhibition with the 20 portraits can be seen until February 11 during the opening hours of De Purmaryn: Tuesday to Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and during the performances.

Watch the episode of ‘You are an Angel’ below, in which Erol is surprised by June and volunteers from Handje Helpen Purmerend.
