Purmerender beaten up at fair in Hoorn after quarrel at bumper cars

After a little problem with the bumper cars at the fair in Hoorn, an 18-year-old boy from Purmerend is attacked by seven boys not much later. He is kicked and beaten and is seriously injured in the face.

On Tuesday evening 9 August – around 11.30 pm – the Purmerender will visit the fair in Hoorn aan de Vale Hen together with a number of friends. They decide to go to the bumper cars. There arises an affair with another group of boys, not much later the boy from Purmerend is attacked.

He is kicked and beaten and is seriously injured in the face. His friends who rushed eventually manage to call the emergency services.

Someone from Hoorn arrested

After a search by the police, a 13-year-old boy from Hoorn is arrested. He has since been released, but remains a suspect in the case. A police spokesman said no other suspects have been identified yet.

The police therefore asks people who have seen something of the fight to report to the police in Hoorn. It is unclear what the 18-year-old’s condition is.
