Students of the Kardinaal Alfrink School in Emmen have collected more than 7300 euros for charity. The money is intended for the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
The sponsor run was a week ago. Because carnival was also celebrated at school at the time, all students from groups 3 to 8 were allowed to walk their rounds in costume. This week all the money from the sponsors has been collected.
According to the school director, the final amount will be even higher. This is because some students have not yet received all the amounts due to illness.
