The volume reached 1,453,853 million euros in the first quarter, but the ratio is far from the 125.2% that it reached in the first quarter of 2021
Spanish public debt rose in the first quarter to 1,453,853 million euros, which represents a record amount, although it reduced its level over GDP to 117.7%far from the maximum reached in the first quarter of 2021 (125.2% of GDP).
According to quarterly data published this Tuesday by the Bank of Spain, the debt of all public administrations exceeded the data for the fourth quarter by 26,618 million (1,427,235 million) and 60,780 million for the first quarter of 2021 (1,393,073 millions).
Nevertheless, the debt ratio continued its moderating trend for the fifth consecutive quarter, closing at 117.7% of GDP, seven tenths below the close of 2021 and seven and a half points below the record of the first quarter of the previous year.
