As of today, all export credit insurance (EKV) stakeholders can respond to the public consultation on the new policy for EKV related to the fossil energy sector. This new policy aligns international government support with the green energy transition (the COP26 statement). You can respond until September 9 via the website of Atradius Dutch State Business.
By signing the COP26 statement during the conference in Glasgow, the Netherlands has pledged to end public support through the ekv for the fossil energy sector abroad.
To ensure a proper and targeted implementation of the statement, the vision and input of the business community and other stakeholders is of great importance. The consultation asks about four topics: the scope, exceptions within the new policy, greening EKV services and the transition period in 2022-2023.
Implementation
Since the COP26 statement was signed, the relevant ministries and in consultation with representatives of companies and NGOs have already discussed a careful implementation of the statement. The content of this consultation is included in the elaboration of the policy.
A letter was recently sent to the House of Representatives about the current state of affairs regarding the elaboration of the COP26 statement.
