PSV Women play cup final and for the first time a bus full of fans will join them

Enthusiastic fans of the PSV Women are preparing for the cup final against FC Twente on Thursday afternoon. For the very first time, a bus full of supporters of the PSV women’s team will leave the stadium. “We thought the cup final was a good time to organize this for the first time with the hard core of the women.”

The PSV Women are in the cup final for the third time. Never before has there been a bus full of supporters. Kayleigh Bronts is one of the supporters on the bus. “Normally everyone goes with their own transport, but now we go to the match with the regular group of supporters. We are with the permanent people who can create atmosphere. That’s cool.”

“It is unique,” says Gerdine Vereijken, board member of the supporters association, enthusiastically. “There are about forty supporters on the bus. But there are also many independent. Everyone is elated and very happy. We just make it a party.”

Vereijken sees a difference between the supporters of the ladies and gentlemen. “Of course you see more women, but the atmosphere is also a bit more relaxed. Conviviality comes first. That is of course also the case with the men, but unfortunately the attention is focused on a small group that causes trouble.”

The supporters present, including Femke de Mol, also see a clear difference between the men’s and women’s matches. “It is much more relaxed than with the men. PSV supporters can simply go to the opponent’s supporters. You can’t do that with men.”

However, it’s not just about fun. The supporters are only too happy to take the cup home. “The most important thing is that PSV will win. I am looking forward to it, because it is still the cup final”, says Quincy van Bommel, the youngest fan on the bus, enthusiastically.

The match between the women of PSV and FC Twente starts at 4 p.m.
