PSV wins a compelling top match and pushes Ajax further into the swamp

PSV won 5-2 against Ajax. The Eindhoven team started the match very poorly, but got things in order in the second half. It pushes the rival further into trouble and still remains faultless in the Eredivisie. Hirving Lozano was the big man on the PSV side with three goals.

‘PSV wake up’ sounded through the Philips Stadium after almost 20 minutes. The people of Eindhoven had nothing to say against Ajax, which surprisingly performed well as number seventeen in the rankings.

At that moment, the visitors from Amsterdam also had a deserved lead. Branco van den Boomen made it 0-1 with a long shot. PSV was lucky that the score was only 0-1. Brian Brobbey, the Ajax striker, missed two opportunities in the opening phase.

Match stopped
PSV woke up. It was a moment of individual class that helped PSV over the dead center. Hirving Lozano moved in and shot into the short corner. Yet the Amsterdam team took the lead again through Brobbey. The striker managed to take advantage of his third opportunity.

Moments earlier, the match had been briefly stopped due to a medical emergency in the stands. Partly due to decisive intervention by the first aiders, stewards, the public and the doctors of both teams, the situation was quickly brought under control.

Three goals in 15 minutes
PSV was awake but still not playing big. Malik Tillman and Joey Veerman in particular were not feeling well in the match and were rightly substituted at half-time. They were replaced by Ismael Saibari and Guus Til.

It turned out to be a golden move because PSV took control of the match in fifteen minutes. Luuk de Jong brought his team alongside Ajax, after which Ismael Saibari gave the Eindhoven team the lead for the first time in the match. Not much later, Lozano made his second and thus made it 4-2.

Absurd ranking
The party in the stands broke out. “Next year to Helmond Sport,” said the PSV supporters. Fifteen minutes before the end, Lozano finally closed the match. He completed his hat trick and put the score at 5-2.

PSV pushes its rival even deeper into the swamp. The record champion is now in last place, 25 points behind the Eindhoven leader. An unprecedented situation.
