In the first 45 minutes of the game, the more famous names were on the field. In the second half, PSV mainly played with players who were still with Jong PSV last season.

In the first act of the match, PSV was the dominant party against the Germans. Lohne plays at the fourth tier of Germany. Within ten minutes the first ball was in the net. Armando Obispo scored with the head from a corner by Joey Veerman.

Lots of missed opportunities
After that, PSV started to miss many opportunities. Noni Madueke in particular killed several chances. After 40 minutes, the second Eindhoven goal fell. Yorbe Vertessen, the striker in the first half, scored on a pass from Madueke.

The young PSV players swinged in the second half. You saw that this team had been playing together for a while last season. Via Simon Colyn (2x), Richard Ledezma and an own goal it became 6-0.

And so Ruud van Nistelrooij can look back on a fine unofficial debut. The result could have been slightly higher if PSV had been more economical with the chances. But after a week of training, there is not much to say about that.

‘Good first week’
Afterwards, Ruud van Nistelrooij was satisfied. “We had a good first week. You already try to put some accents and then hope that it will come out. You see that more in the second half, but that makes sense. Those guys have been working with me for a year.”
