The Eindhoven team won the away game against the already relegated PEC Zwolle 2-1. PSV finished in second place in the Eredivisie and must qualify for the Champions League through preliminary rounds. This will be done under the leadership of Ruud van Nistelrooij.
There was nothing more at stake in Zwolle and both teams were free to attack. Gervane Kastaneer already encountered PSV goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo in the initial phase. The opening goal came in the 11th minute on the other side. Bruma luckily got the ball at his feet after a shot by Cody Gakpo was blocked. The Portuguese PEC goalkeeper Kostas Lamprou passed from close range. It was his seventh league goal.
Four minutes later it was all right again. Kastaneer hit hard in the top right corner. His second goal, a few minutes later, led to a line for offside. Bruma also saw a goal disallowed for the same reason.
Shortly after the break, Gakpo hit the post. Schmidt sent some fresh workers, including debutant Dennis Vos, into the field. One of them, Richard Ledezma, gave the Eindhoven team the lead in the 73rd minute. It was the American’s first goal in the main squad. Jenson Seelt was also allowed to make his first Eredivisie minutes for PSV.

Trainer Ten Hag waves off with a draw at champion Ajax
Trainer Erik ten Hag said goodbye to Ajax with a draw. The new Manchester United coach saw his team save a point against Vitesse (2-2) in the final phase without many basic players. Edson Álvarez scored in the 87th minute. Loïs Openda scored twice against the champion on behalf of Vitesse, who celebrated on Wednesday night.
Jay Gorter was allowed to defend Ajax’s goal for the first time in the Eredivisie. He was already the fourth goalkeeper of Ajax this season in the competition, after Remko Pasveer, Maarten Stekelenburg and André Onana. Youri Regeer, Kenneth Taylor, Brian Brobbey and Devyne Rensch also appeared at the kick-off in the Gelredome.
Ten Hag did not only want to give a few youth players a chance. He has not had access to the injured Pasveer, Antony, Lisandro Martínez, Ryan Gravenberch and Perr Schuurs for some time. Jurriën Timber, according to his trainer, urgently needs a few weeks of rest and Noussair Mazraoui was sick in bed.
Brobbey opened the score for Ajax in the 16th minute. Openda equalized in the 52nd minute and scored again in the 56th minute. Berghuis was close to 2-2 but shot the bar. He did prepare Álvarez’s 2-2 in the final phase.
RKC ends season winning with victory over AZ
RKC Waalwijk closed the season with a 3-1 win at AZ. The team had already secured another season in the Eredivisie on Wednesday. After the victory in Alkmaar, the Waalwijkers finished in tenth place. AZ enters the play-offs as number 5 for a ticket for the preliminary round of the Conference League.
RKC took the lead in the eighteenth minute via a goal from Finn Stokkers. In the stoppage time of the first half, AZ equalized after Dani de Wit headed in from a corner.
The home team fell behind again in the 64th minute after Juriën Gaari brought the Waalwijkers to 2-1. Three minutes later, De Wit again seemed to equalize, but his goal was rejected for offside after intervention by the VAR. In the 79th minute Roy Kuijpers extended RKC’s lead to 3-1, also the final score.
