PSV has said goodbye to Malik Tillman. The 23-year-old American playmaker makes the switch to Bayer Leverkusen, Germany, where Erik ten Hag becomes his new trainer. Tillman signs a five -year contract with his new employer.
Tillman came over from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023. A year later, the people of Eindhoven definitively took over the attacking midfielder. With PSV, Tillman won the national title twice. He played an important role in this.
“It’s an understatement when I say that I experienced two great seasons at PSV,” Tillman looks back. “I proudly transfer my number 7 to the new addition Ruben van Bommel.” PSV took over Van Bommel from AZ on Friday.
“For Malik and for the club this is a wonderful step in many ways, but above all we will miss him very much as a football player and people,” responds Earnest Stewart, director of football affairs of PSV. “Thanks to his fine character, he was good in the group and on the field he showed incredible things.”
