Images that home fans share on Twitter show how they welcome the guests from Brabant with a bang in their city. “Good morning PSV”, one of them writes with the video, which would have been made around two o’clock on Monday night.
Scottish New Year
It is clear that it was not about a few rocks. For at least a minute it seems as if the new year has already arrived in Scotland. It is not clear how long the ‘show’ eventually lasted.
A week ago, the roles were reversed. Then PSV fans tried to wake the AS Monaco players from sleep in the same way. Whether it actually helped is the question, but the fact is that the people of Eindhoven ultimately won. The Monegasques did, however, lodge an official complaint with UEFA for the action.
Ruud van Nistelrooij and his men cannot hope that Monday night’s fireworks show will have the same effect as a week ago. That will become apparent on Tuesday evening, when the Eindhoven team kicks off at nine o’clock in the Ibrox Stadium.
