PSV player Malik Tillman oversleeps before an away match against Almere City

Malik Tillman was not in the PSV match selection on Saturday evening. The midfielder had overslept and it was immediately clear to trainer Peter Bosz. The American no longer had to come and is expected on the training field on Sunday.

Peter Bosz was resolute when Tillman called him in the morning to say he had overslept. The American could stay at home and did not have to travel with the Eindhoven team to Almere City FC. Being late for training, but especially on match days, is a cardinal sin in football.

PSV won 4-0 at Almere City on Saturday evening without the midfielder. Tillman can report to the De Herdgang training field tomorrow. “He still wanted to come, but that was no longer necessary,” De Bosz was clear afterwards.

The trainer was mainly satisfied with the outcome of the match. “But in terms of play it was disappointing. That’s possible once. We have already played enough good games in the Eredivisie.”

First winner
By the way, the trainer had an explanation for the poorer play. “The pitch was very bad. It was very slippery and all our players slipped. I thought it was a good turf, but it was disappointing.”

PSV’s next match awaits on Wednesday, when it will play against Go Ahead Eagles. “That will be our first top match of the year,” the trainer said surprisingly. “They play very well especially at home, but then they can also do that away from home. It is a very good team.”
