PSV has almost completed the arrival of Jarrad Branthwaite. The 20-year-old center defender is in Eindhoven this weekend for a medical examination, reports the number 2 of last season in the Eredivisie. The Englishman will be in the stands on Saturday at PSV’s practice match with Villarreal.
Branthwaite is expected to come over on a rental basis from Everton, the club where general manager Marcel Brands worked last season. Trainer Ruud van Nistelrooij has been pushing for a new defender in recent weeks, partly due to the injuries of André Ramalho, Olivier Boscagli and Mauro Júnior.
PSV has also strengthened itself in recent weeks with Luuk de Jong, Xavi Simons, Ki-Jana Hoever, Guus Til and goalkeepers Walter Benítez and Boy Waterman.
