PSV has drawn against Cercle Brugge at its own Herdgang. In a lively game, without an audience, it was 2-2 against the Belgians. The Eindhoven goals were scored by Noni Madueke and Mathijs Tielemans.
The team of the new trainer Ruud van Nistelrooij started with newcomers Walter Benítez and Ki-Jana Hoever, among others. Benítez is the keeper taken over from Nice, Hoever is hired from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
In the second half, Van Nistelrooij sent another, mainly youthful, team out to the Eindhoven training complex. One of those talents, Tielemans, cleverly made the 2-0. After that Cercle still managed to equalize. Both goals came in the name of Kévin Denkey.

Joël Drommel, who replaced Benítez, was the man with the most experience after the break on the PSV side. Luuk de Jong, who was captured this weekend, was not yet part of the selection.
Earlier in the day, Ajax lost 2-5 to German Paderborn and Feyenoord was defeated 0-7 by FC Copenhagen. The results of these two exhibition games led to a single, premature, euphoric reaction.
