PSV confirmed Cody Gakpo’s longer stay at midnight. The attacker of the Eindhoven club was in the interest of various clubs from the Premier League, but will remain with the club where he went through the youth academy for the time being.
“Born with a red and white heart” and “Club love is priceless”, PSV wrote on social media with videos of the 23-year-old from Eindhoven.
Gakpo was accurate three times against FC Volendam on Thursday. “I can’t answer that,” he said to ESPN’s camera when asked if it was his last game for PSV. “I don’t know yet. The choice has yet to be made. It is indeed not an ideal situation, not for the club and not for me. But together we will figure it out. A lot has happened. I am going to look very carefully now what’s best for me.”
PSV is the leader in the Eredivisie with 12 points after four matches.
