PSV calls on its own supporters to behave on Sunday during the home match against Ajax. The club asks fans, among other things, not to use anti-Semitic or discriminatory chants and not to throw objects on the field or set off fireworks.
“We hope to achieve the tenth victory in a row in the Eredivisie in the top match against Ajax,” PSV said on its own website. “That is an extremely important match for PSV and we would like to ask you all to support our team as much as possible and, above all, positively. The eyes of the national football world are focused on us that day. Support our club in a positive way as you always do. and make it a fantastic football afternoon.”
PSV supporters received bad news on Tuesday after disturbances before and during an away match with RC Lens in the Champions League. During riots before the start of the match, 24 fans of both teams were slightly injured.
During halftime of the match, supporters of the Eindhoven club broke down chairs and threw them, together with some pieces of fireworks, into a section with Lens fans.
PSV announced on Wednesday that it is deeply ashamed of the events in France.
On Tuesday, the French police still had to intervene in riots between supporters of PSV and RC Lens.
