PSV started the cup tournament with an easy home win over amateur club GVVV. The home team scored two goals in the first ten minutes and the score seemed to be high, but in the end it remained 3-0. It was not entirely an evening without worries: trainer Peter Bosz saw three players fall injured.
PSV started the match well. Guus Til quickly scored the 1-0 and thus made his fiftieth goal for the club. Paul Wanner scored his first goal not much later, making it 2-0 on the scoreboard within ten minutes. In the second half, Ivan Perisic made it 3-0 with a beautiful headed goal.
Peter Bosz rested several players in the cup match, but also saw several players injured. Goalkeeper Nick Olij was supposed to make his debut but was injured in the warm-up. That’s why Matej Kovar was back under the bar. Couhaib Driouech and Mauro Júnior also had to leave the field injured.
Debutants Tay Abed and Nicolas Verkooijen replaced them. Noah Fernandez made his starting debut on Tuesday evening.
PSV will play the last match before the winter break at FC Utrecht on Sunday.
