Paris (AP) – Julian Draxler will miss Paris Saint-Germain in the forthcoming tenth win of the French soccer championship.
The national soccer player is currently undergoing rehabilitation after an operation on the lateral meniscus in his right knee, according to a PSG announcement. The announcement did not reveal how long the 28-year-old offensive player would be out.
Draxler played 90 minutes in the 2-0 friendly against Israel at the end of March. He had been given the opportunity by national coach Hansi Flick to recommend himself for a nomination for the World Cup in Qatar from mid-November. His contract in Paris runs until 2024, the former Schalke player did not rule out a change in the summer to get more match practice.
Lionel Messi may only experience his first league title with Paris Saint-Germain off the field. The Argentinian star will miss PSG’s game at Angers on April 20, the club have announced. The 34-year-old suffers from an inflammation of the left Achilles tendon, on April 21 a decision will be made on how to proceed. The Parisians go into the game of the 33rd match day with a 15-point lead over second-placed Olympique Marseille.
