PSG in advanced talks with coach Luis Enrique

New favorite for coaching posts

The search for a coach at Paris Saint-Germain has been enriched by another chapter – and is possibly heading for a timely end. According to consistent media reports, including from “L’Equipe” and “RMC Sports”, Luis Enrique is set to fill the vacant post and lead the French giants into the 2023/24 season. Although there are still some details to be clarified, there are many indications that the Spanish coach will be involved with PSG. There is talk of advanced negotiations.

Those responsible want to close the deal by the middle of next week, they say. PSG do not see themselves as far away from an agreement. Luis Enrique is said to have initially had some reservations. The 53-year-old didn’t like the fact that the Parisians spoke to former Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann at the same time. These hurdles now seem to have been cleared and the ex-professional is ready to join the French champions. Recently it became known that the 35-year-old Nagelsmann is no longer an option to succeed Christophe Galtier.

The farewell of the 56-year-old has not yet been sealed and officially confirmed. The conditions for an early termination of the contract are still open. Other candidates in addition to the new top favorites are Sérgio Conceição (FC Porto) and Marcelo Gallardo (last CA River Plate), it is said. 1a solution Luis Enrique should form a strong collective at PSG that is not dependent on one player alone. President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and Luís Campos would appreciate his qualities. The coach was Spain national team coach until December 2022 and has been available ever since.
