PSG coach Galtier defends himself with a complaint

The coach has now taken legal action in the racism affair surrounding Christophe Galtier from French soccer champions Paris Saint-Germain.

As his lawyer informed the news agency “AFP” on Friday, Galtier is taking action against the former sports director of his old employer OGC Nice, Julien Fournier, and the French journalists Daniel Riolo and Romain Molina for defamation. The Paris public prosecutor’s office confirmed the “AFP” the display.

Galtier has denied racist and Islamophobic comments about players during his time at Nice, which emerged in an email apparently sent by Fournier to representatives of club owner INEOS. After the allegations were published, the public prosecutor’s office officially launched an investigation last week.

“We hope that the Paris public prosecutor’s office will act as quickly as the Nice public prosecutor’s office so that Galtier can be pulled out of the affair as quickly as possible,” said his lawyer Olivier Martin. Galtier also filed a separate complaint against an unknown person for harassment and death threats after receiving threats after the allegations became known, Martin said.

Galtier moved from Nice to the French capital last summer. With his star ensemble around world champion Lionel Messi, he is about to win the French championship, in the Champions League PSG failed in the round of 16 at German record champions Bayern Munich.
