In addition to prospective Frankfurt
17-year-old centre-back El Chadaille Bitshiabu has told a report in French sports daily “L’Equipe” according to another attractive option for the coming summer. After it was said a few days ago that Eintracht Frankfurt was dealing with Paris Saint-Germain’s homegrown talent, the same apparently applies to Borussia Dortmund. According to the well-known newspaper, the interested black and yellow are also positioning themselves.

Along with midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery (17), Bitshiabu is currently PSG’s biggest talent and has made 13 appearances with the pros this season. His contract in the capital runs until June 2024. This was negotiated at a time when Ligue 1 clubs were not yet allowed to retain U20 professionals for more than three years. For this reason, the Parisians had had to sell some promising talents in the past in order to at least generate a fee in this way. Bitshiabu is according to information from “Foot Mercato” now represented by star consultant Jorge Mendes (“Gestifute”), which is to be interpreted as a sign of an impending change.
Bitshiabu, Diaby, Coman & Co.: Most valuable players from the PSG youth
PSG meanwhile plan to become active in the summer transfer market in order to strengthen the defence. The focus is on a left foot. The names of Aymeric Laporte (28, Manchester City) and Bayern professional Lucas Hernández (27) fell in the course of this. However, Hernández is expected to extend his contract in Munich shortly. It seems unclear how the veteran Sergio Ramos will continue. PSG advisor Luís Campos wants to wait until the end of the season to take stock with the former Real defender and talk about an extension. Until then, possible alternative candidates should be found, it is said. However, the trend at Ramos is towards a new one-year contract on lower terms.
Away from Ramos, there are currently only two seasoned central defenders available for the 2023/24 season in Danilo Pereira (31) and captain Marquinhos (28). Presnel Kimpembe (27) is out for a longer period due to a torn Achilles tendon and could not be available again until the end of 2023. Given his contract, which runs until 2024, his future is open. Milan Skriniar (28) is set to come to Paris from Inter Milan on a free transfer after the season.
TM expert on Bitshiabu – interested BVB has experience with PSG talents
Joachim Durand, TM content manager France, recently said about Bundesliga candidate Bitshiabu: “This season he has not managed to benefit from the thin staffing in the PSG defense and Kimpembe’s injury. After making his debut for the capital club under Mauricio Pochettino as the third youngest player in Ligue 1 last season, he was credited with developing faster. That’s why it doesn’t look as if Paris wants to build on him in the future.” Nevertheless, the talent is still undisputed: “He is a very physical player – 96 kilograms at 1.96 meters – and still versatile. In addition to central defence, he can also play at left back and as a defensive midfielder.”
The supposedly interested BVB has already tried several defensive talents from PSG: Dan-Axel Zagadou (23) was signed in 2017 as an 18-year-old, but was unable to establish himself permanently despite 92 appearances due to injury. The central defender now plays for VfB Stuttgart. Abdoulaye Kamara (18) switched from the Paris U19 to BVB II in 2021, Soumaïla Coulibaly (19) to the Dortmund professionals in the same year. Both talents were free transfers and are still waiting for their big breakthrough.
