It already promises to be extremely difficult talks after the 2024 elections, assuming that negotiations will then take place between N-VA chairman Bart De Wever and PS chairman Paul Magnette. De Wever will again put his confederalism on the table, while that model “makes no sense at all” for Magnette. Should N-VA team up with Vlaams Belang, Magnette will not even talk to N-VA at all, even if it were a local agreement. “The cordon sanitaire must be absolute,” said the chairman of the Walloon Socialists.
