The provincial road N865 between Ten Post and Overschild will be closed to traffic from Monday, September 25 to Friday, November 3.
The Woldjerweg and (part of) the Meenteweg will receive new asphalt during that period. Intersections will also be adjusted and additional speed bumps will be installed to emphasize that this is a 60-kilometer road. Through traffic is diverted via the N387 (Slochteren, Schildwolde, Siddeburen) and the N33 (Appingedam).
Three phases
The work will be carried out in phases. In the first phase (September 25 – October 6), work is being done on the part of the road from the intersection at the alternating houses in Ten Post to the intersection at the Kollerijweg near Wittewierum. The temporary housing in Ten Post can be reached via Ten Post.
In the second phase (October 9 – October 20), the section from the Kollerijweg intersection to the Bloemhof Bridge (including the Eemskanaal Noordzijde intersection) will be taken care of.
In the third and last (October 23 – November 3), the section from the Bloemhofbrug (including the Eemskanaal Zuidzijde intersection) to the Graauwedijk intersection, near Overschild, will be tackled.
Undercut traffic
To prevent cut-through traffic in Woltersum, the village is only accessible to local traffic from September 25 to October 20. The east side of Woltersum (Kollerijweg and Eemskanaal Noordzijde) will be closed; the village can only be reached via the Bouwerschapsweg.
Agricultural traffic will be diverted for six weeks via the Eemskanaal Zuidzijde, the Ruischerbrug and the N360 (Garmerwolde and Ten Boer).
Cyclists and pedestrians
Cyclists and pedestrians can use the cycle path along the provincial road until October 8. From October 9, cyclists will be diverted via Woltersum and the Eemskanaal Noordzijde. From October 23 to November 3, cyclists will be diverted via the Eemskanaal Zuidzijde, Laanweg and Graauwedijk.
Bus line 564 runs an alternative route.
