The flag of Ukraine will be projected on the provincial house in Assen in the coming evenings. According to the province of Drenthe, the action is a statement of support for Ukraine and the inhabitants of the country.
“The Executive Board has noted with horror the violation of international law by Ukraine. After almost 80 years of peace, Europe is again confronted with war. The violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty by Russia is a threat to the stability of the whole Europe,” said the province of Drenthe.
“Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine and with our own residents who come from there and still have family and friends living there. We very much hope that further escalation will not occur.”
In addition to the projection, the flag of Ukraine is hoisted on the roof of the provincial house.
