Province shares shower timers to save energy

The province of Drenthe will be handing out free shower timers from next week. This is done to tempt Drenthe to use less hot water.

Taking a shorter shower means less hot water, which means less CO2 is emitted and money is saved. Free timers will be handed out from March 25 to May 11.

90 euros per year

According to the province, the shower timers are useful reminders to get out of the shower on time. “This is not only good for the climate, but also for the wallet. On average, a family can save more than 15,000 liters of water and 60 cubic meters of gas on an annual basis. This amounts to about 90 euros in savings per year.”

The shower timer promotion is part of the campaign Just like that!† which is intended to encourage residents of Drenthe to save energy. The first timers are distributed in Beilen
