TOalso in 2024 the students of elementary, middle and high school students will be busy carrying out the Invalsi teststhe much-discussed tests which aim to measure children’s knowledge of some fundamental skills, which are also essential for learning other disciplines at school.
Invalsi trials 2024, official calendar
It was recently made official at the Ministry of Education and Merit the calendar with the official test dates. Useful information that should be added to the dates of the regional school calendar so that families can organize themselves. Even because, they are compulsory for eighth and fifth grade students and represent an essential requirement for admission to the state exam.
What are the tests for?
The Invalsi Trials evaluate the preparation of Italian students on three different subjects: Italian, Mathematics and English. In primary school the tests are carried out with pen and paper, while in middle and high school with the computer. The dates change depending on the school level: in primary school the tests take place on the same day for all classes. For middle and high schools, the schools choose the days independently in which the tests of their classes will be carried out, but the dates must still fall within the time window defined at national level.

The dates of the Invalsi tests
For the second and fifth classes of primary school, the various tests will be held in these days:
- English (only for fifth graders): Monday 6 May 2024, recovery on Monday 13 May
- Italian: Tuesday 7 May 2024, catch up on Tuesday 14 May
- Mathematics: Thursday 9 May 2024, catch-up on Thursday 16 May
In the case of eighth grade students, however, the tests will have to be carried out in the period between 4 and 30 April. The classes selected as samples will have to carry out the tests on 4, 5, 8 and 9 April 2024. Finally, the supplementary session, during which private students will also carry out the tests, it will instead be held between 27 May and 6 June 2024.
The dates for the Higher Institutes
In high schools, the Invalsi tests will be held between 13 and 31 May 2024, while in the sample classes on the 13th, 14th and 15th of the same month. In the end, in the upper fifth classes, the tests can be carried out from 1 to 27 March. The supplementary session runs from 27 May to 6 June 2024. In the case of the classes removed as samples, the tests will instead take place on 1, 4, 5 and 6 March 2024.
