The VOC handball players continue longer with trainer Rachel de Haze. The expiring contract of the 32-year-old trainer has been extended by one year. As a result, she will remain connected to the Amsterdam club until the summer of 2024.
“In recent years, Rachel has proven to be very good at preparing young talented players for the highest level in the Netherlands,” the club writes in the press release. “As a result, many talents have also been able to take a step towards top teams abroad. In addition, she knows how to put together a strong team every season, which competes for the prizes.”
Under the leadership of De Haze, VOC came second in the Netherlands last year. In the final, her team had to bow to Venlo, which was too strong over two games. This season, VOC is at the top of the Eredivisie. De Haze herself played for years as a player at VOC and has been the coach of the team from Amsterdam since the summer of 2021.
