There has been heavy protest in Ecuador since Monday. Protesters, including many indigenous Ecuadorians and students, protest President Guillermo Lasso’s economic policies. They do this under the leadership of the Conaie, the largest organization for the indigenous people of Ecuador. The protesters want, among other things, lower prices for fuel and agricultural goods. The leader of the Conaie, Leonidas Iza, was arrested by the police on Tuesday.
