Protesting culture students disrupt Antwerp city council: “I don’t understand you, there is some background noise”

There was a lot of enthusiasm on Monday evening at the city council, where, among other things, the new budget is on the agenda and therefore also the savings in the cultural sector. The art students – who are hit hardest – are present at the town hall for the sixth weekday in a row. Dressed in black and with symbolic tape on their mouths, they receive the city councilors for an eventful city council. Their protest can be heard deep into the council chambers of the city council and causes confusion during the session.
