Activists blocked the A37 at the Holsloot junction on Saturday evening. The ANWB reports that the road is closed due to a demonstration. Cars with flags are on the road.
According to Rijkswaterstaat, the traffic jam on the route from the German border to Hoogeveen is less than 2 kilometers long. Motorists can take an exit shortly before the blocked junction to leave the highway, according to Rijkswaterstaat.
It is not clear who the activists are and what their roadblock is targeting. The action is probably related to farmers’ protests against the cabinet’s nitrogen plans.
On Friday, the police put an end to a protest action on the A37, even then several cars were stationary on the road near Hoogeveen. Earlier this week there were also actions on the A37.
