Because of the major attack on Israel, the police are increasing the protection of Jewish and Israeli institutions in Berlin.
As police spokeswoman Beate Ostertag confirmed to BZ, the police increased security precautions for Israeli and Jewish institutions in the capital after the attack on Israel.
There are more radio patrol cars in the city area. All forces are sensitized. No anti-Israel demonstrations have been announced yet.
Jewish institutions in Germany must now be given special protection, said Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser, who is also the top candidate of the Hesse SPD, at an election campaign event in Marburg. “And I personally stand up for this, but so do the interior ministers from all federal states.” Faeser said she had already spoken about it on Saturday with the chairwoman of the Conference of Interior Ministers and Berlin Senator for the Interior Iris Spranger (SPD). “It is now important to provide special protection to Jewish institutions in Germany.”
The federal and state security authorities are concerned about the escalation of violence caused by Hamas’ terrorist attacks on Israel and are closely monitoring any reactions in Germany, according to the information.
