Italy’s former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi caused a stir with a comment at the Christmas party of his football club AC Monza.
A video snippet of the 86-year-old’s speech to players, managers and sponsors of the first division club has been circulating on social media since Tuesday evening, in which he talks about a special motivation for the professionals.
“I told the boys, now you’re playing against Milan, against Juve and so on. If you manage to win against one of these big teams, I’ll send you a minibus with prostitutes to the dressing room.”
After the – presumably – joking comment of the old politician, who used a rather crude Italian term for prostitutes, clapping and laughter could be heard in the video clip. It was not possible to see whether Berlusconi’s partner, who was sitting at the table in front of him, was laughing and applauding.
