Prosecutor investigates canceled FC Den Bosch match

The professional football prosecutor has launched a preliminary investigation into the match in the Kitchen Champion Division between FC Den Bosch and ADO Den Haag. According to a spokesperson for the KNVB, statements are requested from the relevant parties and based on this, the prosecutor decides whether the home club will receive a penalty.

Referee Laurens Gerrets temporarily stopped the game in stadium De Vliert in Den Bosch last week shortly after the break, after a supporter had thrown a glass of beer on the field. That happened after Gerrets had sent the Bossche midfielder Barry Maguire off the field with two yellow cards. According to a spokeswoman for Den Bosch, the public responded to this. “This isn’t good, but it didn’t happen en masse or for a long time.”

Video footage clearly showed which supporter threw beer. The person immediately reported himself to the club and received a stadium ban. In addition, one spectator in the stands misbehaved at Den Bosch – ADO. The Brabant club is in fourteenth place in the first division.
