Mar del Plata is the great coastal city of Buenos Aires that many Argentines choose as their vacation destination. Every summer season, he receives countless proposals to bring a little fun to people. Given the impossibility of reflecting all the shows that there will be, we make a selection with what we consider most remarkable.
The well-known businessman Carlos Rottemberg celebrates his 45 uninterrupted years as a theater producer with the premiere of “El Divorce” (Mar del Plata), with Luciano Castro, Natalie Pérez, Pablo Rago and Carla Conte, directed by Nelson Valente. It is about a dinner shared by two pairs of friends, where the secrets of the method used to reconcile after a separation will intertwine. In addition, among other proven successes on the Buenos Aires billboard, it will take “Laponia” (Bristol), with Jorge Suárez, Laura Oliva, Héctor Díaz and Paula Ransenberg, also directed by Valente. The hit comedy follows a married couple’s trip to Finland, where they will spend Christmas with relatives and secrets from the past that no one wants to remember will be aired.
Likewise, “Perdida Mente” (Atlas), performed by Leonor Benedetto, Karina K, Julieta Ortega, Ana María Picchio and Patricia Sosa, directed by José María Muscari. The story of this piece, where laughter rides on the chill, is that of a judge of the Nation who begins to feel that her mind does not work very well and decides to gather the most important women in her life to request your help.
Destined for the family will be “Dinosaurs. A Jurassic Adventure” (America), in which the great attraction are state-of-the-art specimens that seem to have a life of their own and are manipulated by an evil scientist. Finally, the stand up will be present with “Revuelto” (Lido) with Agustín Aristarán, better known as Radagast and “Jenny, the Paraguayan” (Neptuno), with Wali Iturriaga, who built this character on social networks where he has more than a million and a half followers.
Other options include “Verónica’s room” (Melany), a highly successful version of the suspense written by Ira Levin, starring Silvia Kutika, Fabio Aste, Fernanda Provenzano and Adrián Lazare, directed by Virginia Magnago. The plot is focused on some old people who convince Susan and Larry to go to their house. There they will show him the portrait of a deceased girl, with a curious physical resemblance to the protagonist and an unexpected plot will be unleashed. In the same theater and with the same director, “Afterglow”, the controversial piece by Asher Gelman with Adrian Lázare, Fernando Cuellar and Franco Perozzi, shows what happens in a couple of men who maintain an open relationship.
For those who prefer other entertainment initiatives, “Dracula” (Radio City), the renowned musical show by Pepe Cibrián Campoy and Ángel Mahler with Juan Rodó, Cecilia Milone and Josefina Scaglione, tells the traditional story of the immortal vampire, the outrages committed in his relentless thirst for blood and love as the main redemption factor. The circus show will arrive with “El gran sueño”, a blockbuster production by Circo Servian and Pardo Producciones, with more than 50 artists on stage, artistic direction by Ginett Servian and the presence of the renowned malambo group Malevo.
In short, the conditions are right for a period that is envisioned (and we hope) triumphant.
