The owner of an apartment building on the Hoofdstraat in Hoogeveen still wants a fourth floor on his building. In March last year, the District Court of the Northern Netherlands put an end to this. Today, the Hoogeveen owner filed an appeal with the Council of State against the court’s verdict.
The court reversed the municipality’s permit because it conflicted with the zoning plan. The steel constructions of the penthouses are currently on the roof of the former building of the Kijkshop. The building now has three floors.
The neighbors who objected to the permit can reasonably agree with what it says now. But they remain of the opinion that there are too many small houses in the building. It concerns twelve apartments. They expect a lot of inconvenience when they are rented out.
The owner stated that there are enough tenants with interest. No tenant has yet been found for the retail space on the ground floor. In a week or two the building will be ready and finished. With the exception of the fourth building layer. The Council of State will appeal whether the court’s ruling on the permit is correct.
The municipality of Hoogeveen has now taken a new decision. The building is okay with the exception of the penthouses.
