Inflation – which indicates how fast prices are rising – is at its highest level since March 1976. This means that the cost of food, electricity, natural gas and clothing has risen sharply. For those who want to limit the impact of this, Gunther Devisch gives from Promo hunters Belgium every month an overview of offers and promotions that you should not miss during that period. For example, did you know that in September you can often buy mussels, wine, toilet paper and washing products with significant discounts?
– Mussels: September is a mussel month and that is why many supermarkets promote the mussels. “You can often buy them with discounts of up to 40 percent,” says Devisch. “They sometimes even dive below 2 euros per kilogram and that is very cheap.”
– Wine: Wine festivals are also often organized in September. “That is the perfect time to get to know and stock wines,” says Devisch. “For example, Colruyt gives a free magnum bottle with the purchase of six bottles of the same wine.”
– Clothing: according to Devisch you can buy clothes for a price during the month of September in Wieze in East Flanders. After all, clothing chain JBC organizes a large warehouse sale there every year. You can find stuff for babies, children and adults and that for prices from 1 to 20 euros each.
– Goodies for school: where there are often promos on school supplies in August, you can score discounts on goodies such as bread, cookies and drinks in early September. “Be sure to keep an eye on Jumbo, Carrefour, Albert Heijn and Delhaize for 1+1 free or 2+1 free promotions,” says Devisch.
– toilet paper: September is also the best month to stock up on toilet paper. Carrefour often offers a ’20 + 20 free rolls’ and Albert Heijn ‘1 + 1 free rolls’ promotion. “If you pay less than 0.20 euros or 0.25 euros per roll of three-ply toilet paper, you have certainly made a bargain,” says Devisch.
– Detergents: Brands like Ariel and Dash often come up with promos in September. Several supermarkets are participating, including Colruyt, Kruidvat, Albert Heijn and Delhaize. There are also online promotions, for example at Bol.com and Collect&Go. “If you combine it with receipts that you can find on the website zininmeer.beyou can take extra advantage,” according to the Promojagers. “Note: you can only use one voucher per product and a maximum of five vouchers per product type. From 0.20 euros or less per wash, you get a bargain.”
– Sphere 7 Days: the web store Bol.com often organizes a 7-day event in September. “That is a week full of hefty discounts on a wide range of products,” says Devisch. “It includes electronics, games, laundry products, dishwasher detergents, perfume and more.”
