Promise to pub owner makes guilt: catering thief (16) from Schagen turns himself in

One of the two thieves, who was involved in (at least) some of the catering burglaries, has turned himself in to the police. The thief had promised that to pub owner Jeroen Franssen. After Franssen opened an online manhunt for the perpetrators, two of them decided to report to him.

A 16-year-old boy from Schagen has reported to the police. He has been interrogated and has been temporarily sent home as a suspect, the police told media partner Regional city Central. In any case, he would have admitted to the burglary at ‘Dansen bij Franssen’, but he made no statements about the other burglaries and his associates.

According to the police spokesperson, no investigation was conducted at the scene of the burglary. “But of course we do have the images and are still looking for people who know more about this. We want to close everything down as best as possible.”

‘Cold feet’

Being at the burglaries cash, drinks and cigarettes were stolen. “None of this can be traced, so it is interesting for a thief. There may be more money in a pub at the end of December, due to crowds. Also, more expensive drinks have often been purchased,” says the pub owner. The second perpetrator who made himself known to Franssen has not yet come forward. “No, apparently he still has some cold feet.”
