This new media world needs new talents. That is the mission of the beLOFte, the annual election of young, cross-media talent in the magazine world, organized by the Lucas-Ooms Fund.
The promises have been awarded for seven years. Normally the promises are part of the Mercurs. But because the magazine gala is unfortunately canceled this year, a special award ceremony will be organized on November 16.
The Lucas-Ooms Fund (LOF) is looking for talents who help today’s publishing houses move into the future. This year ten young media professionals have been nominated for the beLOFte, a cash prize that they can use for their further development. For the winner in addition to an award, a cash prize of € 2,500 is available and two runners-up will receive a certificate and each a cash prize of € 1,000.

Bequest from the magazines
The Lucas – Ooms Fund (LOF) was founded in 1967 and aims to stimulate the phenomenon of ‘Magazine’ and magazine journalism, in the broadest and most modern sense of the word, i.e. in writing and image, in print and digitally. and including photojournalism, graphic design and digital media. LOF stems from the bequest of Mrs C. Ooms – Luiken, the widow of CP Ooms. CP Ooms and JW Lucas were the directors of the printing and publishing house De Spaarnestad in Haarlem. With the presentation of the promise, other prizes and sponsoring special projects, the Lucas – Ooms Fund has been a stimulator of magazine and journalism for half a century.
