Bring “everything with you”
1. FSV Mainz 05 has signed another homegrown player in U19 national player Brajan Gruda. As the Rheinhessen announced, the 18-year-old right winger has signed a long-term professional contract. In the past twelve months, the Bundesliga club had also signed professional contracts for Eniss Shabani (19), Ben Bobzien (19), Nelson Weiper (17) and Philipp Schulz (17) from their own youth academy.
“With his great performances, Brajan has played in the foreground with our A-Juniors and with the DFB and has already earned a few training sessions with the pros. He is an immensely talented boy with a cool head who has everything he needs to tackle the next step towards the Bundesliga. We will accompany him and carefully introduce him to the higher intensity,” said Mainz sports director Martin Schmidt.
Gruda has been playing in the Mainz youth team since 2018. In the current season he has nine goals and four assists in nine games for the U19s in the Bundesliga and DFB Cup.
