If the standards for microplastics were tightened up at European level, as has been done for PFOS, Flanders would have “big problems” in many places. That is what Prof. Jana Asselman (UGent) said in the Flemish Parliament on Tuesday during a hearing on the possible introduction of a deposit on beverage packaging.
