Production at Marc Cain in Bodelshausen

There are many work steps behind the production of a garment. The employees in the modern production halls of Marc Cain in Bodelshausen ensure through their daily work that exclusive products are created for customers all over the world.

Marc Cain stands for trendy fashion in the premium segment of women’s outerwear. But not only the exclusive prints and designs, but also the outstanding quality and durability of the individual pieces are highly valued by long-standing customers and fans of the brand.

This longevity is largely due to the high standards in production and quality assurance that every single part goes through before the customer can finally hold it in her hands. Marc Cain’s production staff are at the heart of the state-of-the-art production process.

At the company headquarters in Bodelshausen, Baden-Württemberg, Marc Cain operates the most modern knitting machine park in Europe. With the 3D knitting process introduced in 2013, items of clothing such as sweaters, skirts, cardigans and coats are manufactured in a single work step. This means that a finished product comes out of the knitting machine “ready to wear” without the need for further processing steps.

If so planned by the designers, the finished knitted part can then go directly to printing. Marc Cain was one of the first in the textile industry to use digital printing more than 20 years ago. Today, this printing technique is still used in Bodelshausen. This makes it possible to print a wide variety of materials – from cotton to finished knitwear – with reactive dyes specially made for Marc Cain.

Marc Cain continues to pursue this innovative approach to production to this day. New and innovative techniques, as well as modern machines and work processes are still deeply anchored in the company philosophy, so that the employees always work in a highly modern environment and with the latest technology.

Knitting, textile finishing and printing takes place in three shifts at the headquarters in Bodelshausen, the final assembly in other European countries. After a piece of clothing has passed through the hands of many production workers, the customer holds a product at the end of this process that combines aesthetics and art with nonchalance and exclusivity and is of the highest quality standard “Made in Bodelshausen”.

The employees in production at Marc Cain work with exclusive materials. Just as exclusive as the products, Marc Cain also has high quality standards for the working conditions: state-of-the-art workplaces within a family atmosphere in a fashion company that operates worldwide – this combination is one of Marc Cain’s success factors alongside the successful product.
